Pray and Love

My heart aches for our world! Vibrant lives reduced to hostage, victim, and casualty counts. There are so many questions. There are too few answers. Some people sadly devalue the gift of life. Their own life. And the lives of others.

Nice

I cry out to God for comfort and guidance!

Don’t wait. Pray with me.

  • Pray for the victims and their families.
  • Pray for the first responders who view scenes that change their lives.
  • Pray for the hands and skills of the medical professionals who treat the injured.
  • Pray for the clergy who will attend families in despair.
  • Pray for the hearts of those who contemplate similar actions.

Don’t wait. Love with me.

  • Hold your spouse and children. Tell them that you love them, that they have a purpose, and that they are a gift in your life.
  • Call your family and friends. Let them know that though distance or schedules may separate you, they hold a special place in your heart.
  • Thank police officers, EMTs, firemen, and the military for stepping forward to combat such tragedies and protect the innocent.

Pray.

Love.

Say Amen: Weekend Praise

A few weeks ago, Coach and I were introduced to the band, Finding Favour. We loved them. Here’s one of their hits.

Say Amen

by Finding Favour

This life is a journey we walk by faith
And there will always be the mountains in our way
But right here in this moment, may our strength be renewed
As we recall what God has done and how we’ve seen Him move

If there’s anybody here who’s found Him faithful
Anybody here who knows He’s able
Say Amen
If there’s anybody here who’s seen His power
Anybody here brought through the fire
Say Amen
Anybody here found joy in the middle of sorrow
Just Say AMEN!

Sometimes through the darkness, it’s hard to see
So just be brave and follow where He leads
Greater is the one who’s in us, than he who’s in the world
So child of God remember, the battle is the Lord’s

If there’s anybody here who’s found Him faithful
Anybody here who knows He’s able
Say Amen
If there’s anybody here who’s seen His power
Anybody here brought through the fire
Say Amen
Anybody here found joy in the middle of sorrow
Peace in the storm, hope for tomorrow
And seen time and time again
Then just Say AMEN!

Even in the valley of the shadow when you feel alone in the unknown
Just say Amen, Just say Amen
Even when the storms are raging, Stand and know your not forsaken
Just say Amen, Just say Amen

Is there anybody here, Tell me is there anybody here
Come on and Say Amen

If there’s anybody here who’s seen His power
Anybody here brought through they’re
Come on and Say Amen
Anybody here found joy in the middle of sorrow
Peace in the storm, hope for tomorrow
And seen time and time again
Then just Say AMEN!

What IS he thinking?

Pastor Elf Andy, an influential pastor during my formative years

A very funny and talented pastor friend of mine has finally answered this question for me.

Enjoy!

Her Diary:

Tonight, I thought my husband was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a nice restaurant for dinner. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late but he made no comment on it. Conversation wasn’t flowing so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk. He agreed but he didn’t say much. I asked him what was wrong. He said “Nothing”. I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said he wasn’t upset, that it had nothing to do with me and not to worry about it. One the way home, I told him that I loved him. He smiled slightly and kept driving. I can’t explain his behavior. I don’t know why he didn’t say “I love you too”. When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him completely, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there quietly and watched TV. He continued to seem distant and absent. Finally, with silence all around us, I decided to go to bed. About 15 minutes later, he came to bed. But I still felt that he was distracted and his thoughts were somewhere else. He fell asleep. I cried. I don’t know what to do.

His Diary:

The car keeps making a weird sound, but I can’t figure it out where it’s coming from.

It’s all clear to me now!

Happy Friday!
