For the Children

I love children. I love the power education has to raise a child up and set them on a new path. I am the first woman on my mother’s side of the  family to graduate college, and then I went on to get a Masters at Harvard. I know first hand how valuable education is.

I also love teaching. The power to change another’s life is remarkable and awe-inspiring. It’s the relationship between a teacher and student that can make all the difference.

Much of life is indeed a rigged game-the have’s and the have not’s. I am grateful for those teachers and mentors who were there to help me. I am grateful that I now have the opportunity to help others. It is a huge blessing when I receive. And I am certainly blessed when I give. I’m frequently reminded of this verse.

To whom much is given

May we seek to help those around us!
