Communication is Key

I love watching crazy YouTube videos. Here are three favorites from recent history that all revolve around clear communication.

So whether it’s a couple,

a teacher and student,

or an international idiom confusion,

Remember communication is key!

Old School Communication

All joking aside, and I do love to laugh, communication is pivotal for relationships to succeed. Think about your family, your job, or your community. When things go well, it’s probably because you have all the necessary information. When they don’t, someone failed to communicate.

How many times have you heard, “No one told me,” or “Well, if I had known”? How many times have you said or thought, “If they’d tell me what was going on, I could do a better job,” or “What do you want from me? I’m not a mind reader”?

Or how many times have you provided half truths? Believed that your spouse magically knew what you were thinking? Or said something best kept to yourself?

Here’s few passages of scripture to guide our communication:

But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ ~Matthew 5:37

Speak the truth in love. ~Ephesians 4:15

A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. ~Proverbs 15:1

Or if scripture is a bit too heavy, stick with what your grandma said,

If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.

May we seek to communicate with others in love!
