The Poinsettia: The Advent Tree

The Christmas Rose

The Christmas Rose

Dec. 4: Poinsettia

One of my favorite things about the Advent Tree is the history and Christian context of many of the Christmas symbols. My mother, who clipped a series of newspaper articles about these symbols, sprinkled them throughout the nightly readings. As a result of her influence, I know that touching legends behind these symbols. Now you can learn them too.

My mother also found the story referenced in the clipping, only it’s a little girl named Lucinda. I’m not sure what magazine this story came from, but it’s a great one. Enjoy!
