Had to share this!
What a great idea! Labor Day is gone. Pools are closed. Kids are in school. The routine has begun again. Why not head back to church?
I’ve been reading these books by a Methodist Bishop, Robert Schnase, and he talks about the five principles of fruitfulness in your Christian walk: Radical Hospitality, Passionate Worship, Intentional Faith Development, Risk-taking Missions, and Extravagant Generosity. These principles, or values, that believers should hold firm to are all encapsulated in the church experience. Schnase posits that a church or person who is lead by these principles will be fruitful, vibrant, and productive. I pray that if you answer the back-to-church call that you find a church that embraces you warmly, stirs your spirit, reminds you of God’s love and Jesus’ sacrifice, takes action in a suffering world, and shares their gifts and talents with all those around them. And that your back-to-church experience will help you become more fruitful, vibrant, and productive!
