As a mother of two boys, a five year old and an almost 2 year old, I can tell you with confidence that they are into everything–the cabinets, the drawers, the silverware, the junk drawer, the toys, the cleaning products, my shoes, my make-up, my jewelry, my books. They are into all “boy” subjects–cars, dinosaurs, planes, sports, video games, playing outside, wrestling with anyone who will reciprocate, getting dirty, and eating. They are also listeners and repeaters.
As we try to teach them about manners and decorum and what’s appropriate where, I find myself saying, “That’s not what we do,” or, “That’s just who we are.” It’s good for me to remember that they follow my lead.
Who is following your lead?
